The Swantown Inn is a small Mom and Pop, family owned business. In this series of blog posts we want to highlight other small businesses. Some we frequent often, some less so, but if there is a choice between a chain and a local option we almost always go for the local.
3 Magnets Beer Garden & Food Court
Just like the Inn, 3 Magnets is owned and run by a local family. Also like the Inn, their business has eveolved over the years. They take the honor of Olympia’s longest operating brewery, sadly due to Fish Tale closing. The one thing that always remains constant is their commitment to Olympia. The pub itself has evolved to offer a beer garden, supported by local food trucks. BBQ, South Indian, Pizza and Sandwiches are all on offer. In the summer they also host live music, filling the surrounds with a festive vibe. All the while they have always been the place to hang out to watch soccer football.
As this is written, the brewery is currrently running a Start Engine (think kickstarter for investing) campaign where you can invest in their self care line of non-alcoholic beers. Over the panademic these beers have really taken off in popularity. Now Casey and I are not big beer drinkers, but we know a good thing when we see it! They are great people and like us havesupported the local community in many ways. So we have made a small investment and are excited to see where it all goes!
