Refresh and Revive

As we close out the first month of 2025 we see a lot of change, from the weather to political. Some of this is exciting and some of it raises concerns and causes stresses. No matter what your personal struggles or fears are, or the fliside of joys and achievements are, we want our Bed and Breakfast to be your haven, retreat and place of choice to go to.

Just like you we too are hoping to turn this year in to a great one. Last year was hard and stressful. Nathan was away from the Inn for two months, and it was a very busy summer. We had no time to do some of the scheduled maintenance we planned on doing. From the gardens to the Inn itself. All of that has already started to change already!

As we write this we are in the final days of counting down a refinance that has been at least 6 years in the making. Fingers crossed it will be closed by Monday. In turn this will give us the breathing space and funds to work on our laundry list of items. Let us share those withyou, so you can be part of the journey, both figuritively and possibily literally.

The Inn Gardens and Wwoofers

We are in our fourth year of offering accomodations for Wwoofers. It is the community where people can volunteer to help on farms and homesteads in return for room and board. It has been a boon for us as Innkeepers and really helped us keep the Inn gardens somewhat manageable.

Deer proofing the vegetable garden

For the last week we had our first Wwoofer of the year, Jay, who was with us here at the Inn the same time last year. Jay is amazing. She not only helped with general cleanup of the gardens, she also helped Nathan build a deer proof fence for a portion of the vegetable garden. We were tired of feeding the deer and rabbits, so the plan is to have all the leafy greens in a deer and rabbit proof area, We do not have a gate on it yet, and an arbor may also be in the works.

If you would like to Wwoof with us, or have a family member who may, we typically accept Wwoofers for up to a week. If you want to stay longer we have to see if we all gel from a work ethic and social vibe. Then typically we would offer to extend your stay if possible. See our Wwoof listing here.

There are a lot of other projects that we plan on working on in quick succession. Some of them are weather dependent, others are more financially dependent. So when you check in this year you may find us outside on arrival a lot more often!
