Lolli Llama- Olympia’s Sweetest Shop

Support Small Business Series

The Swantown Inn is a small Mom and Pop, family owned business. In this series of blog posts we want to highlight other small businesses. Some we frequent often, some less so, but if there is a choice between a chain and a local option we almost always go for the local.

Lolli Llama Candy Company

It is always exciting to see new stores opening in downtown Olympia. It is even more exciting when you know the owners! We are lucky to have met Pete and Jane through our kids school, Madison Elementary, and even though our kids aren’t the same ages we are all in that similar part of life. They even live in the upper part of our neighborhood! I am sure we have run in to Ryan as well, but I cannot remember the context. These are great community creators (have you done the Madison Mad Dash 5k?) so opening a Candy Store during Fall Arts Walk a few weeks ago seems perfect!

When we visited the store it was their opening weekend, and they hadn’t completely stocked the store yet. The mural and art work definately was fun and bright. Social media posts have given me faith that they know their candy! The other day they posted Violet Crumbles, an Australian favorite. I suggested ont he post they should also add Crunchies (another version of honeycombe covered with chocolate).

They are asking their followers for suggestions on items they should carry. So here is your chance to tell them!
