Great place to stay awhile and explore Olympia, Nathan and Casey go the extra step for guest comfort. They’ve included many thoughtful details in their rooms to make your stay relaxing, and their home is beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, featuring produce they grew themselves. I’m looking forward to staying again.
*TLDR: Beware – Pictures do not convey the dirty reality.*(Re: Owner’s response: We did not get back to the hotel til close to midnight, hence we did not contact them about the state of the room. We did however email them the next day and never received a response. Both of us tried tried to lock the bathroom door via the slide bolt multiple times – it did not work.)Booked the Columbia room to attend a show at Capitol Theater.Greeted by owner, who gave a tour of the common spaces – which aren’t really usable due to shabby (not chic) furniture and large amounts of “stuff” piled everywhere. The Columbia room has that funky old house smell that opening windows did not air it out. There was a visible layer of dust on everything. The Columbia room’s “private” bathroom door doesn’t close or lock. We tried multiple times/ways to close + lock the door but nothing worked. I don’t recommend using the rubber mat on the side of the tub – it has MOLD all over the underside. (See pictures of the Columbia room – zoom in on tub to see mat with dark mold spots and discoloration). In the room there was a container with candy but it was only wrappers. I went to put them in the trash and saw the trash had not been taken out. Suspicious the room may have not been cleaned properly I pulled back the bed spread to reveal rustled sheets with the imprint of the person’s body. Gross.
We enjoyed our stay at Swantown Inn! We booked last minute on the way out of Olympic National Park. Nathan worked with us graciously, despite our late arrival time. We enjoyed getting to know other guests in the mornings over three course breakfasts, with Nathan and Casey occasionally chiming in to share stories or their recommendations for spending time in the area. The breakfasts were delicious, and I think a “Swantown Inn Cookbook” would make a fantastic addition for the gift shop cabinet. The first morning featured maple brown sugar scones, peach sage sorbet, and decadent french toast. The second morning featured plum scones, blueberry spruce sorbet, and an apple bacon soufflé. The accommodations were cozy, and the entire atmosphere of the home is respectful to the time period that it was built. This is the place to stay in Olympia, and we feel thankful for the opportunity to say that!
My partner and I had an amazing stay. Our room was upgraded to the Astoria room free of charge. Breakfast was delish. The innkeepers Nathan and Casey are just lovely. Nathan also gave us an awesome dinner recommendation.
My wife and I chose the Swantown Inn for our wedding. Every step of the way Nathan and Casey went out of their way to make sure everything was taken care of making our wedding completely stress free. They took care of everything but the license and photographer. They hooked me up with a great photographer even making that easy for us. Their family catered and served our guests making the whole event very special. My wife and I stayed at the Inn which is a fun throw back into the past and is beautiful decorated. They serve a tasty breakfast. We even bought some of their home grown huney
This hotel exceeded all expectations, especially considering the price. From the moment we arrived, the valet service was efficient and friendly. The front desk staff were welcoming and provided all the information we needed for our stay. Our room was impeccably clean and incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day of exploring. The breakfast was amazing, with homemade scones and sorbet among the three courses. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable stay with excellent service and a beautiful rooftop experience.
The Swantown Inn is quiet, very comfortable, and has engaging hosts. Breakfast was amazing and they are very willing to accommodate dietary restrictions. There’s a pub in walking distance and the house is lovely. I will stay there again when I’m in Olympia.
Local looking for a comfortable, beautiful room with a tub to soak in and 100% got everything I wanted. This place is incredible. They even have a daily visitor in the form of a neighborhood cat that really got me. The bed is so comfortable and the AC is so nice and the tub so deep and hot and the breakfasts are AMAZING. You don’t just get a place to stay here, but friendly conversations with the innkeepers too. Really great place at the heart of Olympia.
What a lucky find. Tucked away in a nice little neighborhood, within walking distance to many fun spots. You get to feel what it might be like to live in Olympia, and supporting a local business at the same time. Can’t wait to come back!
I love this B&B! It’s in a quiet neighborhood but walkable distance to good restaurants. The breakfast was amazing with homemade scones and sorbet among three courses. The place is beautiful and cozy, and the owners are very friendly.
In town for a wedding and wanted to experience local B&B options. Wonderful stay for an overnight visit. Host (Casey) was very accommodating for an early check-in (and a lost watch!). Bed was the best sleep I had all trip. Breakfast had a pleasant surprise course that I hope everyone can experience. Looking forward to next years booking!
Wonderful experience. Charming bed and breakfast with nice grounds and a great location for exploring Olympia and the surrounding area. Rooms have so much character, in a very good way and the host is so helpful, friendly and full of fun stories.
Cozy location, Nathan and Casey were very welcoming hosts. Room was clean and warm even though it was cold out. Got the sweet breakfast and it was delicious.
Beautiful building, and wonderful clean rooms. Hosts were a joy to talk with and the breakfast was delicious and diverse. Will likely come back again, and definitely recommend!
A cute bed and breakfast experience, thank you Nathan and Casey. For those reading this, if you don’t come here and get the fresh pear sorbet (part of the amazing three course breakfast) you’re going to regret it. Great lattes as well, thank you Lauren.
We stayed here for our Valentines Day celebration in 2024 and loved it. It is close to all of the amenities that we were looking for like parks, restaurants, and stores. The Inn Keepers were extremely friendly and welcoming for our entire stay. The building is beautiful and well kept. Breakfast was amazing with cranberry scones, pear sorbet, and Marion berry French toast. Coffee was just as good as any of the local shops and we would definitely stay here again.
We really enjoyed our unique stay at Swantown Inn. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating to our schedule. We instantly felt welcome as if visiting old friends. The Victorian house was a great setting to such a special experience and breakfast was delicious. Would definitely recommend and would plan to stay again in the future.
If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind Olympia experience, you definitely need to stay at the Swantown Inn.This bed & breakfast is an absolute gem and located only a mile from downtown. The house is a beautiful 140 year old Victorian mansion with a life and personality all it’s own. The beds are big and comfortable and every corner is filled with gorgeous antiques. The innkeepers are warm and kind and their children are absolutely charming. When I visited in December the vibes were very relaxing and calm.I had the most delicious breakfast of decadent stuffed french toast with marionberry syrup and a perfectly made oat milk latte. I really appreciated the innkeepers’ enthusiasm to cater to my dietary preferences. They also host events like weddings in their ballroom, and there is honey available from bees kept on the property. My stay here was absolutely priceless and truly very special. I can’t wait to return.
I stayed here with my mom about a year ago when I was visiting Olympia prior to moving. The owners are lovely people, gave me wonderful recommendations for places to check out and really made me feel welcomed before moving to the city. The rooms are clean and have lots of personality. I highly recommend staying here over some of the local corporate hotel chains in the area.
We were in town for a wedding. The Swantown Inn was great to hang out in the mornings before festivities. It had character, a puzzle in progress to occupy my wife and I, great breakfasts, very comfortable room. We’d definitely stay there again.
Very Quaint, Historical Inn with tons of CHARM! We had a wonderful 3 night stay in November 2023. We lucked out and weather was great although, I would have been happy just hanging out at the inn. Food was great and the hosts were so accomadating. They helped us with directions to a great place to hike and great restaurants to eat dinner at. All in all a great place to celebrate my birthday.
We held our wedding here and it was beautiful and the rooms are so cozy and the 3 course breakfast was Soo good. Nathan and Cassie are very sweet hosts. The barista also makes very good coffee and teas. I can’t wait to stay again!
We had an amazing stay here! The breakfasts are delicious and perfectly portioned. The rooms are wonderful and comfortable, although for clarity we only stayed two nights and didn’t try out the shower. They have great recommendations of activities to do, both nearby and elsewhere in Olympia. I definitely recommend it!
The home is absolutely gorgeous! The host and hostess are friendly and their family is adorable. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful. We will definitely be staying here the next time we visit olympia.
My husband and I spent a wonderful weekend at Swantown Inn for a romantic getaway (and an early birthday celebration). We enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to a return visit. Nathan and Casey are fabulous hosts and we enjoyed their delicious breakfasts, the bed was incredibly comfortable (I slept better than I have in a long time), and the location is great for being able to explore the Olympia downtown area on foot. Thank you for a fantastic weekend!
Swantown Inn was the perfect stay for our Olympia trip. Nathan and Casey were super responsive and they even picked us up from the train station, which was a huge load off our plates since our train got in kind of late. The three course breakfast was AMAZING, and I loved how it was different every day. (Probably my favorite part of our stay, even though it was super filling so I could only eat one serving…). The room was clean and comfy and I loved the bathroom and the big clawfoot tub. It’s located close to downtown, and within walking distance of some lovely trails! Casey and Nathan were so kind, helpful (there’s not much they don’t know about the area, so definitely make use of their expertise) and some of the loveliest people to be around. 5/5 recommend this gem!
